Catch-up anyone?

So, apparently I am my mother's daughter and started a project but didn't finish it, or rather didn't stick with it. Here I am 9 months after I started this blog (and almost 5 months since my daughter was born) playing catch up once again...

Obviously, I'm not pregnant anymore so the previous title of the blog, Human Baby on Board, was inaccurate and has been changed to Baby Belle. Amelia Belle was born on January 7th after over 33 hours of induced labor. The back story to that is this: around 34ish weeks I exhibited high blood pressure and was put on labetelol and told to schedule weekly NST's and BPP's. At my 39 week BPP and NST they determined that my fluid was low-ish (measuring 6 cm, 5 cm is considered really low) so the U/S tech called my Dr. who was like, well she's already in the hospital so lets get that baby out.

After two rounds of cervidil (which take 12 hours each) my cervix finally dilated to 1.5 cm (started from 0) and they started the pitocin. I was pretty miserable from the start of the whole process until about 2 hours in to the PIT when I got my epidural because the cervidil gave me contractions (and yet did barely anything). Once I got the epi I went from 3 cm to 10 cm in around 4 hours (the passage of time while I was on the epi was pretty foggy because it was so heavenly, and they had given me a dose of nubain the hour before the epi, meaning I was high as a kite). They started the induction Tuesday Jan. 6th at 11:30 AM and Amelia was born Weds. Jan. 7th at 8:40 PM. It took a long time, but I was, and still am thankful I was able to do it vaginally without any complications.

Amelia weighed 6 lbs. 6 oz. and measured 20 1/4 in. at birth. At her last appt. (4 month check) she weighed 14 lb. 10 oz. and measured 24 1/2 in. She definitely plumped up quite well after a very difficult first two weeks. BFing didn't go very well and she lost more than 10% her body weight and I made the switch to supplementing with formula, but that started a downhill slide from mostly BFing to now all FF. But I should save that for another post as it's quite a story (or at least I think it is).

Here's brand new Amelia:
